FAU Hospitality and Tourism Management Participates

Boca Raton, FL -- The Hospitality and Tourism Management Program at Florida Atlantic University is proud to announce the involvement of both its faculty and students in the upcoming CHRIS/HOLA conferences to be held at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami from April 24 to 29, 2017. The Hotel Opportunities Latin America (HOLA) conference and the Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS) are two back-to-back events focusing on hotel investment and development in the Caribbean and Latin America respectively. The conferences take place annually and attract 400+ industry leaders in the world of hotel and resort development.

Gregory Bohan, Instructor in the Hospitality Management Program has been involved in the conferences since their inception in both a planning capacity and as an annual speaker. He will be moderating two panels this year – one entitled "Luxury Resorts – A Caribbean Classic – and the second a special panel of key speakers assembled specifically to meet with student volunteers at the conference. Three FAU Hospitality students have been selected to participate. They will join students from Boston University, Florida International University, Michigan State University and Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne in attending the special students-only session prior to the start of the main HOLA/CHRIS conference as well as participating fully in the CHRIS/HOLA conferences that follow.

The Hospitality and Tourism Management Program at Florida Atlantic University is the only AACSB* -accredited bachelor of business administration degree program in the State University System of the State of Florida. All hospitality students take the core business courses as do the majority of business majors across the College of Business (i.e., finance, management, marketing, accounting, etc.) yet, the hospitality students have the addition of a full complement of hospitality-specific coursework.
