Quorvus Collection’s modern luxury typifies the new generation of hotels — Source: TOPHOTELPROJECTS

The Quorvus Collection is a relatively new brand for the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, most well known for operating the Radisson and Park Plaza and Park Inn hotel chains. This upmarket collection replaced the group's hallmark fashion brand Missoni, along with Radisson Blu, appealing to the modern, discerning traveler. According to Carlson Rezidor, "Each Quorvus Collection property offers a distinguished guest experience and an invitation to immerse oneself in the best a location can offer." This points to the current trend sweeping the hotel industry that focuses more on connecting with the specific location of each hotel, clearly based on a client desire to experience more of the local flavour of a place rather than just experiencing the universal environment of a hotel. This is a trend very much influenced by millennials and the surge of sharing accommodation, which allows travelers to meet locals and get tips from them, keeping them off the tourist trail and into the real life of a city or town.

Already boasting three hotels in their collection, Quorvus operates in a number of very distinctive and varied locations. Their current hotels are G&V Royal Mile Hotel in Edinburgh, The Hormuz Grand Hotel in Muscat, Oman and The Symphony Style Hotel in Kuwait. Each hotel is destination focused, designed to create "moments and events that stimulate the intellect", and also to cultivate "environments, textures and subtle details that talk to the instinct", crafting unique and memorable visitor experiences that draw on local cultures. Their newest venture will be the Emerald Grand Hotel and Spa in Lagos, Nigeria, a luxury, new build 5-star hotel boasting 244 rooms due to open at the end of 2019. Located near the retail paradise Palms Mall, the new hotel will have spa and wellness facilities as well as a signature restaurant.
