For those who don't visit certain countries often, it can sometimes be easy to fall into the trap of evaluating them based on their largest markets alone, of reducing the United States to what's happening in New York City, of viewing France in terms of the market in Paris, or seeing all of Japan as Tokyo.

With Brazil, the largest and most famous city for most people is Rio de Janeiro, and while that market is indeed a dynamic one for the global hospitality industry, it is far from Brazil's only market of note. As the largest and most populous country in South America, there are quite a few other markets for tourists to visit in Brazil. Three markets worth watching outside of Rio de Janeiro are Sao Paulo, Sorocaba a bit further south, and Belo Horizonte which is inland and north of Rio. Currently, there are six projects in Sao Paulo's pipeline with four others in Sorocaba's, while two are currently underway in Belo Horizonte.
