Last evening, performing for one-night only in New York City, famed French music collective Nouvelle Vaguecontinued to voyage around the world with Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts as an extension of the brands' global music collaboration.

Known to own the "je ne sais quoi" of entertaining, Le Méridien Hotels and Derek Blasberg hosted an intimate cocktail event – putting a light-hearted twist on the staid Valentine's Day celebrations. With effervescent champagne cocktails and decadent caviar and oysters, the event featured Nouvelle Vague performing an acoustic twist on some classic, some unexpected love songs (from My Funny Valentine to Can't Get You Out of My Head.)

"Both Le Méridien and Nouvelle Vague find shared inspiration in modern classics with a twist – from the iconic ballads they perform in 1960s Bossa Nova style to the midcentury modern design of our hotels," said George Fleck, Vice President, Global Brand Marketing & Management, Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts. "We are delighted to celebrate love in a vintage yet light-hearted, French and very Le Méridien way, in collaboration with such a talented music collective and Derek Blasberg, who embodies this era of glamorous travel."

This event follows on the heels of performances for the recent hotel openings of Le Méridien Seoul and Le Méridien Denver Downtown as well as the evocative, late-night series – Paris After Dark – that took to Le Méridien hotels in Shanghai, Vienna and (of course) Paris last year.

It also builds on the three year partnership between both French-born brands, which has brought curated playlists to the arrival experience in signature Le Méridien Hubs: which transform the traditional lobby space, creating a bright, thoughtfully-designed coffeehouse vibe by day and sophisticated cocktail bar by night.
