TEFAF, the not-for-profit foundation that organizes three Fairs internationally, TEFAF Maastricht, TEFAF New York Fall and TEFAF New York Spring, has announced that Raffles Hotels & Resorts, an award-winning, luxury hotel brand, is the lead sponsor for the second edition of TEFAF New York Spring, May 4-8, 2018 at the historic Park Avenue Armory.

Raffles Hotels & Resorts, established in Southeast Asia in 1887 with the opening of the illustrious Raffles Singapore, is regarded as one of the world's top luxury brands with an enchanting portfolio of legendary hotels. Arguably the gold standard for luxury, glamour and distinctive experiences in the global hotel industry, the brand is renowned for its impeccable and bespoke guest service — exemplified by the brand's legendary Raffles butlers. The Raffles flag flies in some of the world's leading cities and top resort destinations including favorites such as Paris, Istanbul, Dubai and the Seychelles, with many more locations on the horizon.

"Raffles is honored to support TEFAF New York Spring and the marvelous forum it provides for international art collectors and connoisseurs," said Jeannette Ho, Vice President, Raffles Brand & Strategic Partnerships. "Our clientele shares our passion for the visual arts and many of our hotels, such as Raffles Istanbul and Raffles Jakarta, exhibit the works of contemporary artists on a grand scale, infusing our lobbies and lounges with inspiration, energy and modern local culture. We are grateful to the artists, the international dealers and TEFAF who continue to present such works to a global audience."

"TEFAF is delighted that Raffles Hotels & Resorts is sponsoring the second edition of our New York Spring Fair," said Patrick van Maris, Chief Executive Officer of TEFAF. "Our shared dedication to the highest standards of cultural heritage and craftsmanship make this a natural partnership for TEFAF. We look forward to working together with Raffles to craft an exceptional visitor experience at TEFAF New York Spring, welcoming the world's top dealers, collectors, institutions, and connoisseurs."

The association with TEFAF New York Spring will bring the spirit of Raffles' iconic and much-loved Long Bar to the Park Avenue Armory's Drill Hall and Mezzanine Level. On hand to welcome Fair visitors will be ambassador Narajan Singh, the iconic and worldly doorman from Raffles Singapore who is a living embodiment of Raffles' customs and traditions. In the TEFAF Raffles Long Bar, also known as the elegantly designed Colonel's Reception Room, guests will be able to learn more about, and taste, the brand's signature Singapore Sling, a gin-based cocktail created in 1915 by Raffles bartender Ngiam Tong Boon. The showcase will also play host to a series of special events throughout the Fair's run, including master classes on how to prepare the Singapore Sling. Meanwhile, on the Armory's Mezzanine Level, visitors will find the Raffles Balcony Bar inspired by the stylish Parisian design of Raffles' Le Bar Long at Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris, a opulent palace that also features its own in-house art gallery, art concierge and contemporary art and design bookstore.

During the event, a raffle will also take place with one winner receiving an exclusive stay for two at a Raffles location of their choice. The giveaway, taking place during TEFAF's Gala Preview on May 3, will benefit Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The prize includes a luxurious three-night stay in a signature suite, spa treatments for two, and a culinary experience curated by the selected hotel's executive chef.

Throughout the multi-day showcase, visitors will also hear about the latest news and developments across the Raffles portfolio including details on the legendary restoration program currently in its final phase at Raffles Singapore and a sneak preview into the remarkable transformation of the soon-to-open Raffles Europejski Warsaw, a neo-renaissance palace that was one of the most beloved hotels of 19th century Europe and which is now home to more than 400 unique pieces of Polish art.

TEFAF New York Spring, which launched in May 2017, is dedicated to modern and contemporary art & design, and will feature 90 exhibitors, including Lévy Gorvy, Gagosian, Gladstone Gallery, Marian Goodman Gallery, Matthew Marks Gallery, and Taffin. A selection of TEFAF New York Spring exhibitors will showcase jewelry, African and Oceanic art, and antiquities to reflect how the art historical canon has influenced some of the greatest modern and contemporary artists.
