Canopy by Hilton

1. What makes the Portland Pearl District and Dallas Uptown neighborhoods perfect for the Canopy by Hilton brand?
Canopy by Hilton's thoughtfully local choices and surprising extras have been part of the brand DNA since its inception. Each property is a natural extension of its neighborhood as seen through local design, food & drink and culture. Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District and Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown are both located in key urban cities with vibrant neighborhoods that offer a fresh, positive stay for guests.

Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District is located in the heart of a revitalized industrial zone that has quickly become a go-to spot for visitors and local alike, with indie boutiques, art galleries, microbreweries, green space and eateries, making the neighborhood perfect for a new lifestyle hospitality. The Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown neighborhood brings guests to Dallas' most walkable district, featuring more than 100 shops, restaurants and entertainment. Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown emphasizes its locale by telling the story of the Uptown district throughout the hotel, including artwork, vintage bricks from McKinney Avenue and a refurbished piece of the M-Line Trolley.

2. What new offerings and amenities can we expect with the new Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District and Dallas Uptown properties?
We are excited to say hello to all of the unique and original offerings to our first West Coast and Texas properties, including each property's Welcome Gifts - a rotating menu of local, mini cupcakes or A YEN chocolate for guests in Portland Pearl District and pastries from Bisous Bisous for guests in Dallas Uptown

Canopy Central, Canopy by Hilton's open, welcoming lobby, is also a standout in each of our newest neighborhoods. In Portland Pearl District, guests are treated to the regional fare from Lead Culinary Enthusiast Sara Woods and a European-style café in Dallas Uptown. Both properties will also host a complimentary evening tasting, including the latest local drinks direct from the innovative beverage makers of Portland's Distillery Row and local Dallas brews from Deep Ellum Brewery, Community Brewery and Lakewood Brewery.

In Dallas Uptown, a rooftop lounge, Upside, will be a destination for guests and locals alike. With stunning views of downtown Dallas, Upside will offer a vast mixology program including craft and local beers, high-end wine and creative cocktails as well as an innovative food menu serving small bites and shared plates, ranging from gulf crab and avocado lettuce wraps to bacon-wrapped quail legs.

As with all Canopy by Hilton properties, guests checking in to Portland Pearl District and Dallas Uptown can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, artisanal breakfast, Canopy by Hilton bike rentals and access to the hotels' Transfer Lounge - an area of retreat that is both an oasis and a recharging station for guests as they check in, including self-directed luggage storage, changing areas and restroom amenities.

3. Considering local know-how is part of Canopy by Hilton's DNA, what are you favorite local tips from each property's Canopy by Hilton Enthusiast?
Canopy Enthusiasts - or local experts - are a signature part of the Canopy by Hilton experience. Their local know-how, such as recommendations on the best restaurants and excursions in the neighborhood, offer unique itineraries for our guests.

In Portland's Pearl District, Powell's City of Books, Portland Japanese Garden and Deschutes Brewery are just a few of the local gems that should not be missed. Each offers a unique glimpse into the ingenuity, beauty and independent spirit of the neighborhood and are sure to leave guests with unforgettable memories of The Pearl.

And Uptown Dallas really has it all - from shopping, to restaurants and entertainment. Two neighborhood favorites include The Rustic, a local spot to enjoy craft beer and wine and local live music from all on their award-winning patio, and Katy Trail Ice House, an open communal beer garden located right in the heart of Uptown. Additionally, McKinney Avenue flows right through the middle of the Uptown Dallas district, and is home to numerous local gems including restaurants and bars as well as nightlife.

4. Will both the Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District and Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown properties offer the brand's Paws in the Neighborhood program?
Both Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District and Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown now participate in the brand's Paws in the Neighborhood initiative.

The partnership with Planet Dog, the leading manufacturer of eco-friendly, innovative premium pet products, allows guests to share energizing, comfortable stays with their canines. Four-legged guests receive a Just-Right dog bed and a "Paws in the Neighborhood Welcome Gift," which includes a Planet Dog Orbee ball, a locally-sourced dog treat from Portland and Dallas, dispenser of pickup bags, eco-friendly, fleece-lined leash and collar.

At Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown, we are also offering a 24-hour pass to Mutts Canine Cantina, which is located across from the hotel. The dog friendly restaurant and dog park is an exciting extension to our Paws in The Neighborhood program, inviting guests and their dogs to enjoy the local neighborhood.

5. How do you see the brand continuing to expand and what pipeline properties are you most excited about?
With the openings of Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District and Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown, we have doubled our footprint in the Americas, and now have a total of five properties in the portfolio, including Reykjavik and Washington D.C.'s Bethesda North and The Wharf neighborhoods. Canopy by Hilton has an aggressive pipeline of almost 30 hotels scheduled to open in the next six years in neighborhoods like Zagreb, Chengdu, Atlanta Midtown, Kuala Lumpur, another Dallas property in the Frisco Station neighborhood and more.

We have seen a growing demand from ownership groups who are looking to develop in dynamic neighborhoods, and with the Canopy by Hilton brand, developers are able to offer travelers a fresh approach to hospitality and the lifestyle category as a whole.
