André Fu is one of the world's most lauded and prolific hospitality designers, the mind behind such acclaimed projects as the Upper House and Kerry Hotel in Hong Kong, the Berkeley in London, Villa la Coste in Aix-en-Provence and Four Seasons in Seoul and Tokyo. In 2016, he was named Designer of the Year by Maison & Objet Asia.

Born and based in Hong Kong and educated at Cambridge, Fu is regularly asked for his reflections on East and West design in interviews. Last week, a seven-years-in-the-making project, embodying Wu's personal take on East-meets-West, was unveiled: Waldorf Astoria's first Southeast Asian outpost, which opened on bustling Ratchadamri Road in Bangkok, Thailand.
