Proud Bahama Prime Minister opening SOTIC2018 with a lot of culture included
The Bahamas is the Center of the Caribbean this week, but it appears not all Caribbean regions much noticeable Jamaica are not represented.
This is the State of the Caribbean Tourism Industry event by the Caribbean Tourism Organization with all Caribbean member states showing flags, sending candidates including ministers and exchange ideas.
The PM emphasized the importance of tourism for the region, was outspoken to environmental issues, including pollution by US Navy ships in the Bahamas. Together with Joy Jibrulu, Director General Ministry of Tourism the PM pointed out the importance of culture referring to the Colours Junkanoo Group from the Bahamas performing.
Ms. Jibrilu thanked her team to have worked tireless for 9 months in putting SOTIC 2018 together.
Also taken the stage was the Hon. Dionisio D'Aguilar, minister of tourism for the Bahamas, the new CTO Secretary General from St. Lucia, all under the directive of Mr. Kerry Fountain, the director of Ceremonies and executive director Bahamas Out Islands Promotion Group.
It was a colorful and fun night, and the variety of different Bahamian food offered to delegates at the end along with Bahamian reggae made the evening a night to remember.
The presentation of the national flags and the singing of Bahamas National Anthem by Mr John Darville was amazing according to many attending the evening.
