Through all the above, and more, Aloft Hotels have earned a reputation for providing a guest experience perched on the cutting edge of tech. But there's more than one way to innovate. Recently, through a partnership with Universal Music Group, the brand has positioned itself on the cutting edge of music.

This Thursday, the three finalists of its "Project: Aloft Star" talent quest will perform at the Aloft Austin Downtown. The winner will receive mentoring from UMG executives and studio time to record a single at Capitol Studios in Hollywood—plus 500,000 Marriott Loyalty points redeemable for Marriott International hotel stays. "For artists starting out in the industry, this will be a real game-changer when they start to spend a lot of their time on the road," says Tina Edmundson, the Global Brand Officer of Marriott International.
