1. New York City is a melting pot of restaurants serving nearly every type of cuisine, which is no surprise when the borough of Queens alone is home to residents speaking 138 languages. I'm thankful for our diversity and how it allows me to enjoy the cuisine, flavors and cultures of the world, right in my own city.

2. I'm thankful that our industry creates opportunity for people from all walks of life. Whether it's your first job, second act or you need another chance. Whether you have an advanced degree or didn't graduate high school, it's one of the few industries where all are welcome and where hard work and the right attitude are the great equalizer for economic opportunity.

3. I'm thankful that the hospitality industry provides fulfilling careers for people and part-time jobs to others who want to make a little extra money to support their family, put themselves through college or support their dreams of acting on Broadway.

4. I'm thankful that our restaurants and nightlife venues are anchors of our neighborhoods and create culture that attract people to live in and visit our communities.
