Chefs, travel agents, gaming attendants and waiters will all be increasingly in demand in coming years as the construction and refurbishment of Adelaide hotels and tourist establishments shows no signs of slowing. Middle management workers will also be highly sought-after, with employers signalling their intentions to immediately ramp up hiring in the lead-up to Christmas, while further recruitment drives are expected to get underway from next year.

SkyCity Adelaide, already the citys tenth-largest employer, is set to hire 80 staff next year to coincide with the opening of its new sports bar in April. The new jobs are part of 800 ongoing roles to be created by 2020 following a $330 million makeover of the Adelaide Casino.

That (April hire) will be very much food and beverage staff, casino general manager Luke Walker says. Everything from bar staff to the kitchen brigade head chefs, maitre d, waiters and waitresses those sorts of roles (are what we will be looking) for next year.
