DALLAS, TEXAS (November 27, 2018) - Springer-Miller Systems (SMS), the leading provider of guest-centric hospitality and spa management systems has completed a next-level integration with OpenKey, the industry standard for universal mobile key. The enriched feature will automate the delivery of mobile keys to guests smartphones, reducing front-desk check-in times.

Many hotels around the world have already embraced mobile keyless technology. In fact, 48 percent of hotels are investing or plan to invest in mobile check-in/out. With the innovation of automated mobile key delivery available only from OpenKey, hotel properties can better meet the demand of todays travelers for a speedy and effortless check-in experience. The key issue experience for the front-desk agent is also effortless, providing them more time to focus on essential guest needs and providing an improved stay experience.

"In todays digital age, forward-thinking hoteliers are leveraging technology in ways weve never seen before," said Michelle Young, Vice President of Sales at SMS. "Similarly, providers must respond to these needs in an efficient manner. We are proud that alongside OpenKey, we can be part of the solution for hotel properties seeking to deliver exceptional guest-centric service."

Automated mobile key delivery is an innovative back-end feature that issues a secure encrypted mobile key to a guests smartphone immediately upon hotel check-in. In one easy step, the front-desk agent enters the mobile device number in the Property Management System to automatically initialize this feature. The OpenKey system interfaces with the SMS platform to handle the creation and delivery of the digital key to the guests smartphone.

"At OpenKey we are always looking for ways to improve the most robust mobile key technology system in the world," said Brian Shedd, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for OpenKey. "Research consistently validates that a reduction in check-in times leads to improved guest satisfaction scores and online reviews. We are delighted that partners like SMS help us deliver win-win solutions for hotel properties and their guests."

The integrated solution from OpenKey and SMS is available at a number of hotels across the country, including Le Pavillon Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Churchill Hotel and the Melrose Georgetown Hotel in Washington, D.C. and the One Ocean Resort and Spa in Atlantic Beach, Florida. The OpenKey system works with every major global lock provider and is currently in 65 countries on six continents with an Eastern Hemisphere office in Shanghai, China.
