Just steps from the Ponte Vecchio, you'll find the Gallery Hotel Art. It's one of six properties in the Lungarno Collection, a group of boutique hotels all created by the Ferragamo family. The Ferragamo footprint runs through all the hotels - five in Florence and one in Rome - from the branded beauty products in every bathroom to the Picasso and Caravaggio paintings direct from the family's private collection displayed on the walls of a sister property. An epicentre of culture, heritage and design, Gallery Hotel Art has as its backdrop one of the world's most captivating cities.

First opened in 1999, the aesthetic throughout is light, white and airy. The reception area and public spaces are simple in their design and understated in their decor - all clean lines and sepia tones. As the name would suggest, art is important, and the contemporary collection throughout features elegant black and white photography from household names, the likes of Helmut Newton, David Lachapelle and Steven Klein. It feels apt that a hotel created by a family so rooted in Hollywood and celebrity would decorate their walls with the biggest names in the business. After all, the Ferragamo brand began when Salvatore Ferragamo left Italy in the 1920s for California and launched his career making impeccable made-to-measure shoes for film stars and film sets.
