The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association (HSMAI) is pleased to announce Stephen Powell as the recipient of the inaugural Award for Lifetime Achievement in Hospitality Sales. HSMAI will recognize Powell at the Adrian Awards Dinner Reception and Gala on January 22, 2019, at the New York Marriott Marquis.

The HSMAI Award for Lifetime Achievement in Hospitality Sales recognizes individuals who have spent a major portion of their careers in the sales profession and have contributed to the betterment of the industry in a significant and lasting way, over an extended period of time.

Stephen Powell's 40-year career in the sales and marketing industry included positions in corporate management as well as on-property with InterContinental Hotels Group, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, Loews Hotels, and Fairmont Hotels. His innovative marketing and sales strategies were supported by the integration of advertising, promotions, channel management, call centers, offshoring, and direct sales. Powell has worked extensively with global markets with experience in the USA, Europe, Africa, Middle East, UKI and Asia including Greater China. He was an active member of the HSMAI Chief Sales Officer Executive Roundtable from 2010-2015.
