Last week at FITUR, Meliá Hotels International presented the latest innovations in its mobile MeliáApp to improve user experience and offer services throughout the customer journey. The app received the prize for "Best Tourism Services App" yesterday at the AppTourism Awards 2019 organised by Segittur (State Organisation for Innovation and Tourism Technology Management) to acknowledge the best mobile solutions in the tourism industry.

The new MeliáApp aims to accompany travellers in each of the different stages of the customer journey, allowing them to search and book hotels, check in online and get a mobile digital key (in participating hotels), make bookings at hotel restaurants or spas and request room service or bathroom amenities, among many other options. Guests can also chat with the hotel team until several days after their stay if they need to resolve any issue at any time. The app also allows members of the MeliáRewards loyalty programme to enjoy all the programme benefits, redeem points quickly and easily and also save their usual payment methods in a secure environment to make it even easier to pay using the app.

As it made clear during FITUR, Meliá Hotels International is strongly focused on becoming an industry leader in innovation, with the modernisation of its brand portfolio and hotel renovations having been key in recent years. The latest acknowledgement of this effort also came yesterday at the Vocento Business Awards in Madrid, with the successful ME by Meliá brand winning the award for innovation. The brand is renowned internationally for its innovative vision of luxury, with hotels inspired by contemporary cultural and located in happening destinations, combining cutting-edge design, exclusive service and lifestyle attributes to create a unique experience for travellers.

After a recent review of brand standards to ensure alignment with contemporary vogue, ME by Meliá hotels have become spaces where artists and designers are able to share their creations with guests. They offer design, technology, music, fashion, culture and cuisine to make them essential meeting points with the most cosmopolitan ambience and spaces such as the Radio ME rooftop bars becoming the places to be in each of the hotel destinations.
