MCLEAN, Va. - As Hilton prepares to celebrate its milestone 100th anniversary on May 31, the world's first global hotel company is getting the celebration started early by bringing its renowned hospitality to a deserving mother and awarding her the vacation of a lifetime during the 20th annual Breakfast in Bed segment on Good Morning America (GMA), timed right before Mother's Day.

Earlier today, during the 8 a.m. EST hour of GMA, Terrie, a mother of three and a school bus driver from Plant City, Fla., received the surprise of a lifetime. Waiting for her at the end of her morning bus route at Plant City High School was GMA host Sam Champion, celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse and crowds of students and well-wishers. In recognition of her commitment to the well-being of the students she mentors every day, Terrie was selected out of a pool of thousands of contestants as this year's Breakfast in Bed honoree.

As the official sponsor of this year's segment, Hilton surprised Terrie with a five-night stay at Hilton Playa del Carmen, An All-Inclusive Adults Only Resort in Mexico overlooking the Caribbean Sea. During her stay, Terrie will be treated to a number of memorable experiences, including dinner on the beach, spa treatments and a fishing excursion, to enjoy her favorite pastime. Terrie was also awarded Diamond status in the Hilton Honors loyalty program, which allows her to access more VIP benefits and earn future nights and perks faster.

"We are thrilled to help recognize Terrie's tireless commitment to Plant City High School students by giving her the opportunity to experience some much-deserved relaxation and rejuvenation at one of our newest all-inclusive properties, Hilton Playa Del Carmen," says Carole Munroe, Senior Director of Global Brand Communications at Hilton. "At Hilton, we share in the same values of giving back to our local communities, and we are honored to give Terrie the chance to sit back, relax and experience the light and warmth of Hilton hospitality."

Now in its 20th year, GMA's Breakfast in Bed highlights the story of a special mom who has done something unbelievable to give back to her community. Hilton's sponsorship during its own 100th anniversary month reflects the company's vision, "to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality," inspired by founder Conrad Hilton, whose mother had a profound influence on his outlook on life.
