For the 16th consecutive year, Radisson Hotel Group organizes its Global Community Action Month. Hundreds of actions are being organized around the world.
For the 16th consecutive year, Radisson Hotel Group is organizing its Global Community Action Month - an initiative in which hotels, as well as teams from the corporate offices, come together to contribute to the local communities. Here is a selection of the many activities hotels and offices have organized during the past two weeks.
Treasure Hunt in Bruges
Hotel and office team members in Belgium were invited for a fun Sunday afternoon in Bruges, where Queen Bee had taken a break from her hive. Queen Bee didn't want to be found but she left traces behind without noticing it. 62 participants teamed up to hunt and solve the riddles and challenges that she left behind by mistake. She thought she could enjoy Bruges without being disturbed but our teams found out where she was hiding and brought her back to the hive.
Hejmo's project of SOS Children's Villages was present at the treasure hunt, and together with their coordinators and participants they had a great time. During the game, children, families, friends and colleagues had the opportunity to see Bruges from a different perspective, visit hidden places, enjoy local beers and learn more about the city. The hive offered to the winners some prizes and to the rest of the treasure hunters delicious waffles and bubbles during a celebration party at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Bruges on the 12th floor where we had a beautiful view of the city.
Blu Run in Milan
The Radisson Blu Hotel, Milan was the proud sponsor of the Blu Run, a non-competitive race which takes place every year, just a few steps from the hotel. The purpose of the event is to reconnect with the local community and to give staff members and members from the local community the opportunity to gather and enjoy a day of fun, sport and charity.
This year, approximately 30 employees and guests teamed up participating in the race, raising money in support of the local primary school.
Special master cooking class in Moscow
Earlier this month, chef Martin Repetto and sous-chef Alexander Tinyakov of the Radisson Collection Hotel, Moscow visited a center for children who don't have any parental care. The chefs organized a cooking masterclass, providing food to the children and making every moment matter.
Hotdog sale at CSO Brussels
To raise money for the three SOS Children's Villages in Belgium the Responsible Business team put up a pop-up restaurant at the corporate office in Brussels. At lunchtime regular as well as vegetarian hot dogs were sold. Several colleagues enjoyed eating delicious hot dogs during their lunch break.
Donations and random acts of kindness in South Africa
Also, in South Africa our hotels kicked off Community Action Month to support the local SOS Children's Villages.
The Radisson Hotels in Cape Town hosted a soup kitchen and donated blankets from their winter donation drive to the local SOS Children's Village team. The children and mothers organized a special performance to thank the hotel teams.
The Radisson Blu Hotel, Port Elizabeth donated a collection of winter clothing and jeans as part of their Demin Drive and the Park Inn by Radisson Polokwane brought random acts of kindness to their local community.
The hotel teams in Johannesburg visited the SOS Children's Village in Ennerdale, providing stitching and sewing workshops to the youth and helped with some ongoing maintenance of the village's houses.
