Empowering Girls With Life Changing Experiences
Marriott International executives Leeny Oberg, Stephanie Linnartz, Rena Reiss and Tricia Primrose share their childhood stories
The United Nations' International Day of the Girl is a time to focus on the needs and challenges girls face around the world and to ask ourselves how we are promoting empowerment of girls and women and the fulfillment of their human rights.
This year's theme, "GirlForce: Unscripted and Unstoppable," really resonates with me as I think about the dynamic women on our team at Marriott International. Today, more than 40 percent of the top 1,000 leaders at Marriott are women. Our goal is to hit gender parity among global leadership by 2025.
I have found talented women executives attract other talented women executives to the workplace in a way that I can't. Women see there are opportunities available to them at our company and that it's a business priority for them to advance. Our company was built on the idea that everyone is welcome and everyone deserves an opportunity to succeed and grow in their careers. We know our strength as a global hospitality company lies in the diversity of our workforce.
