How to enter

Every disruptive concept starts with an idea. What's yours?

We want you to bring us your idea to create positive disruption in hospitality, travel and tourism. It should have the potential to impact one or more of these areas:

Environment
Culture
Customer experience/Employee satisfaction
Profitability

Once you've come up with your business idea, create a short video (under three minutes) introducing it. Bear in mind we're not looking for the most technically proficient video - we'll judge your idea on its creativity, commercial feasibility and potential to disrupt.

Each video submission will be judged by a panel of industry experts. To be in with a chance of winning a prize, your entry must be selected for the second stage, where you will be asked to present your business case in more detail. From the second stage, 20 regional winners will be invited to Les Roches Switzerland for a final event, with partial scholarships awarded to regional runners-up.

At the final event, a full scholarship will be presented to the overall winner. All other regional winners receive a 50% scholarship.

Tips for a brilliant elevator pitch

Prepare beforehand and practice
Choose a quiet and comfortable space
In your introduction highlight your talents, experience and passion
Clearly articulate the monetary and or social return of your product/service
Know your USP - what makes you different
Know your market and competitors
Maintain eye contact and smile
Speak clearly and with confidence & enthusiasm
Keep it simple - no jargon or fancy words

How to prepare your one-page supporting document

Be creative!
Introduce yourself and explain your product/idea
It's not an essay - keep it concise, use visuals/numbers/bullets
What is your USP? What is the problem/opportunity that inspired you?
What is your market and who are your competitors?
What is your strategy for success? How will you gain traction?

Am I eligible?

To enter our Bachelor scholarship competition you must be 18 years and above by the time you begin your second semester internship. For example, if you begin your studies in September 2021 you'll need to be 18 by the time your internship commences in September 2022.

Your English language must be proficient for higher education studies. We require English langauge exam scores (issued within the last 12 months) for non-native speakers, or if you have not spent the last two years in full-time English education. For more information click here.

If you are a postgraduate student, you can enter the parallel competition for our Master's in Hospitality Strategy and Digital transformation.

What are the prizes?

Regional level:
10x50% scholarships to BBA for regional winners*
10x30% scholarships for regional runners-up
10x20% scholarships for regional 3rd place

* If you win at regional level then go on to win the global competition, the 50% scholarship is automatically converted to a 100% scholarship.

Global level:
1x100% scholarship to BBA
