The official renaming of the Dedman College of Hospitality at Florida State University from being the Dedman School of Hospitality marked a milestone for the college on Nov. 20.

From its establishment in 1947 to now, the college has provided students with opportunities to major and minor in hospitality and tourism management, global club management and leadership and more.

The Dedman College of Hospitality is also made up of a faculty team with experience in the industry for students to learn from. It also provides students with other resources through international programs to gain as much experience as they need to succeed.

Don Farr is the director of the Dedman School of Hospitality and is also the Robert H. Dedman professor of Hospitality Management.

"Besides the relationship with the faculty, we make sure they get the right courses and connections, require internships and provide them with guest speakers," said Farr. "All of these different ways are how we ensure that our students will be successful."
