First off, what's a "pet peeve"? Well, according to Merriam-Websters dictionary, it's "something that annoys or bothers a person very much". Are your pet peeves putting your job in danger? I hope not.

You know, let's be honest… Each of us knows someone that drives us nuts. That crazy uncle that tells the worst jokes, that neighbor who's always sticking her nose in your business, or how about that coworker that constantly tries to "one-up" you and take all the credit for your work?

These certainly are people that we can do without. But sometimes is not just "people that drive us crazy" that fall within our pet peeve category. There are a few other things that drive us just as nuts…or at least drives ME nuts!

Work Pet Peeves

Many of us spend almost as much time at work as we do with our family and must deal with "work stuff" we can't stand. It's how we deal with our pet peeves that make us professional and a leader. We must not allow our pet peeves to interfere with our ability to perform as needed.

Example: If "Customer A" has a different political or social leaning, they're still our customer and we have a responsibility to serve them - regardless of our personal opinions. If we cannot do this, then we need to find another line of work that doesn't interact directly with customers.

Here's a few past blog articles where I write about 5 of my biggest work/business-related pet peeves. I wonder how many of you share these same peeves. I would love to hear what you think.
