There is, perhaps, no hotter and more vibrant market for global hospitality than the United Arab Emirates' Dubai. It's a gleaming oasis in the desert, where all manner of architecture is possible and luxury and high-living experiences are available in what seems like infinite supply.

The thing is, 30 years ago the city was dusty and antiquated. The seeds for long-term, sustained hospitality success were just beginning to be planted. Oh, how far the city has come, and with its meteoric rise, so too has risen the rest of the hospitality industry pipeline in the country that it calls homes — the United Arab Emirates.

In fact, looking at the upcoming project pipeline for the United Arab Emirates is a glimpse into what is arguably the future of the most in demand hospitality market on earth. While China certainly has a claim to make, and the United States is still the ranking champion in terms of size and available thriving markets, Dubai is likely the most glitzy and glamorous city to visit right now.

So, let's start with a look at what's happening in that city, along with a glimpse at one of its marquee projects. Currently, there are 164 new projects in the works. One of the most impressive is the DAMAC Towers by Paramount Hotels and Resorts, which is under construction with a slated debut date set for the second quarter of 2018. Once completed, this sleek and modern hotel will have a total of 702 rooms. It's also one of the rising trend of luxurious properties that blends hotel accommodations and private residences in the same property.

Although no market is on the same level as Dubai, the United Arab Emirates pipeline is also showing a rosy outlook for its second most relevant city, Abu Dhabi. There are 25 projects in various stages of development currently in Abu Dhabi. Among these projects is the Fairmont Abu Dhabi Marina Hotel and Residences, which is slated to open some time in 2018 and offer guests 812 rooms when it does. This property will be a 39 storey hotel, and, like the DAMAC Towers by Paramount Hotels and Resorts, it will mix hotel rooms with private residences, having that split break down to 563 guest rooms with 249 serviced apartment units.

The other market worth watching in Dubai is Sharjah, which currently has nine projects in its pipeline, including the Majlis Grand Mercure Sharjah Resort and Spa, which upon completion in early 2019 will have 234 rooms for guests. To call Sharjah its own independent market, however, almost seems a bit inaccurate, as the city literally borders Dubai and blends into that metropolitan area, once again serving as a reminder of that city's seemingly boundless hospitality growth.
