The Oxford School of Hospitality Management (OSHM)
Over the last 50 years the Department of Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism Management has established an impressive international reputation. This is founded on our innovative approaches to learning and teaching, the quality of our research and consultancy and the strong links we have established with companies and professional bodies in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries. These links help to ensure that our programmes are up to date and relevant, and that our graduates find fulfilling employment opportunities within the industry and go on to develop successful careers. Our approach to learning and teaching is progressive and we are constantly looking at ways to enhance our programmes. In addition to formal lectures, our programmes make use of practical laboratory work, seminars, tutorials, business games, case studies, role play, projects and computer simulations. Through our approach to learning and teaching we help you develop skills such as self management, teamwork and communication skills which are essential in a personal as well as a professional context. Our faculty members are accomplished professionals, a number of whom have international reputaions. Their knowledge of, and commitment to, leading edge developments invigorates our teaching and ensures that you are engaged with the very latest thinking.
