From the Delivering Asia Communications and C9 Hotelworks event The White Label Session: A Guide to Hotel Conversions, Soft Brands and Third-Party OperatorsA hospitality-focused virtual event for hotel owners, developers, operators, and those looking to understand how the industry is pivoting in an exciting shift away from highly standardized, cookie-cutter properties. If you are looking for a typically boring, bland, vanilla panel of suits and ties speaking how their chain is best, opt-out now, this isn’t for you. If you want to learn about seismic changes in a post COVID-19 hotel landscape where conversions are the new mantra, this is for you. Expect a topical and relevant set of straight talk, peppered with actual case studies, practical out of the box solutions, and what’s new and hot in the soft brand space. Hear how third-party operators are now a fast-emerging force in Asia, and who hotel operators are working with outside brand experts to create unique hotels that wow guests. This is part of a series of virtual hospitality events from Delivering Asia Communications and C9 Hotelworks that are intended to create forward looking conversations, ideas and learnings for hotels and where the industry goes next. Speakers and talking points The speaking order is going to be as below - everyone has 8 minutes. At the end of the session, we try to have a Q and A period, so good for everyone to be on time and not run over. These segments are not going to be hard sells please and no corporate profiles in the presentations we will vet the final powerpoints, but they are meant to be conversations, and educational about actual case studies of projects, how to do for developers, results etc, so light touch please. In 8 minutes, can be anywhere from 6-10 slides, ten max in that time period works. Can you send me ([email protected]) your presentations by end of Monday please. Our experience on embedded videos is not good, we are using Zoom and it is hard on the system, so no videos please. Can you send us a Powerpoint and also a PDF copy if your presentation. Ideally we have share screen and you control your slides, but we have a PPT copy here, so if there is an issue we can bring onto screen. On the PDF, these are sent to participants, if you have some slides you dont want distributed you can delete these. We do video the event and show on YouTube and also Facebook live feed. In terms of subjects, as discussed with Bill please find these highlighted below your sessions. There is lots of discussion on what exactly is White Label, Soft Brands Third Party operators etc so Bill will talk about this at the start of the event to define it, well. Think most owners want to understand approach, how HMC”s evaluate commercial potential, brand standards, what systems can provide, how the process works and ultimately advantages, talk good bad and ugly, good to mention what does not work what location, products scale etc, and a little how on soft brands or white label how open or not you are to franchise or 3rd party operators, 3rd party is big issue now so talking point, so guess end of day, the presentations show your goods but in a more educational way, anyway all good, think we are all on same page, let me know if note. • Andrew Langdon – Senior Vice President Development Asia, ACCOR (Focus on MGallery, no branded offerings, where hotel name is retained• Christian Pucher – Senior Director of Development Asia, Hilton (Curio as a conversion brand, and Tapesty can also talk Canopy as a soft non stnadardized brand)• Serena Lim – Vice President Hotel Development South, East Asia & Korea, IHG (Voco as a conversion brand and Indigo as a soft brand)• Markus Aklin – Vice President Development, Onyx Hospitality Group.
