EP were delighted to co host an important webinar on the Future of Hospitality Education with Don Sloan (Chair of the Oxford Cultural Collective) and Ruud Reuland (former Head of Ecole Hotelier de Lausanne and HotelSchool the Hague). The discussion which has taken place for many years touched on the view of Hospitality Education at present but most importantly, the thinking behind and possible set of principles that could shape a positive future for hospitality education in the UK.Don Sloan continued the conversation with Julia Sibley (CEO, Savoy Educational Trust) and Professor Una McMahon Beattie (Ulster University) as well as Gordon McIntyre, Associate Dean for Hospitality & Tourism at City of Glasgow College and discussed the need to create an optimistic narrative about the future of hospitality education in the UK and provided examples of good practice. This is a discussion which has taken place between academia and industry for many years but there is, many believe, an opportunity to create meaningful change for once and for all for a better future.A very interesting discussion well worth a listen.
