Interview with CEO of Global Hotel Alliance On Global Travel Outlook and the Big Shift to Leisure
Christopher Hartley is CEO of the world’s largest alliance of independent hotel brands. Global Hotel Alliance, which uses a shared technology platform for its member brands, and operates a multi-brand loyalty program, DISCOVERY, which helps smaller brads compete against the huge companies. We discuss the global travel outlook, the push for leisure travel and how hotels will need to change who they market to and how they do it once the pandemic is finally out of our collective lives.

Chris Hartley’s propensity for innovation led him to create two successful hospitality joint ventures, and he is a recognized expert on the business of loyalty marketing. In 2004, he was one of the pioneers behind the launch of Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), and since 2006, has led its growth in forging a unique collaborative alliance, which enables independent, privately-owned hotel brands to compete with the world’s largest hotel companies and reduce dependence on the online booking giants.
