Canada: CTC’s new Global Tourism Watch survey is out, plus a detailed report on the meetings and conventions travel sector.

Global Tourism Watch gives recommendations for doing business in CTC’s nine key geographic markets, MC & IT report also posted

Think of it as a holiday present to help grow your business revenues in 2009! There is a wealth of information in several new reports the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC)'s Research Department has just released.

The Global Tourism Watch is a brand new survey created in the aftermath of the downturn in tourism following the events of Sept. 11, 2001 and 2003's SARS crisis.

The Global Tourism Watch compiles the results from online surveys completed by thousands of participants, covering a wide range of topics and initiatives. Near the end of each report you'll find recommendations on how tourism businesses can capitalize on the key findings in each market. The newest reports focus on Japan, Mexico, United States, Germany and South Korea. Harris/Decima Research conducted the survey, an initiative supported by various CTC tourism partners.

Also now live: research on the boomingMeetings, Conventions and Incentive Travel (MC&IT) market. This hot sector in CTC's nine key markets contributes $1.1 billion annually to Canada's economy. CTC Research studied four different markets—the UK, Germany, Mexico and China—to find out the potential for Canadian businesses specializing in this kind of travel to attract greater revenue. If you're a convention organizer, add this Meetings, Conventions and Incentive Travel report to your must-read list.
