The International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) is now calling for nominations for the third annual IHIF Young Leader Award. Held in conjunction with the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC), the award is given each year to a young and emerging leader who has great potential.
The IHIF Young Leader award, plus Euro 1,000, will be presented to the winner on Wednesday, 11 March 2011 at a plenary session held at the InterContinental Hotel Berlin. Previous winners include Roderick Micallef, Director of Finance and Acting General Manager, Corinthia Hotel, Lisbon and Leslie McGibbon, Senior Vice President Corporate Affairs, IHG.
“It’s always difficult for our judging panel to choose only one deserving winner each year, but we’ve been extremely pleased with the past two recipients and look forward to announcing 2011’s Young Leader in March,” said Jonathan Worsley, Chairman of Bench Events, co-organisers of IHIF.
"We’re thrilled to support the Young Leaders program with IHIF next year,” said Lori Raleigh, Executive Director ISHC. “It’s truly a worthwhile endeavour to collaborate with the organisers of IHIF to seek out and reward the young leaders in the industry. Each applicant will be instrumental in the growth and success of our industry in the future and we applaud their efforts.”
To be eligible for nomination, entrants for the IHIF Young Leader Award must be under 35 years of age, have worked in a hospitality-related field, have completed a significant project for his or her hotel or organization, be recognized by leaders of his or her own hotel or organization as an emerging leader and be based in a European country.
Nominations are being accepted until 31 January 2011 on the IHIF website.
