SIOUX FALLS, S.D., June 10 / LodgeNet Entertainment Corporation LNET today announced it is now installing Nintendo(R) 64 (N64(R)) video game systems at a pace of 11,000 rooms per month and will include N64 as part of new in-room entertainment systems going forward. The company will also be offering the N64 platform as an upgrade option to existing customers who currently have Super NES(R) systems.

Last June, LodgeNet and Nintendo of America Inc. announced a 10-year licensing agreement to provide in-room N64 video game entertainment. The rollout follows LodgeNet's modification of its host system to integrate N64 technology for lodging environments, as well as field testing at hotel beta sites. As the leading lodging industry provider of Nintendo video games since 1993, LodgeNet currently provides in-room Nintendo video games to nearly 550,000 guest rooms in the United States and Canada.

The 64-bit N64 video game platform features high-resolution 3-D graphics, CD-quality sound, and an ergonomically designed, full-featured game controller. LodgeNet will install the systems with a library of more than twenty of Nintendo's most popular games, including The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, 1080o Snowboarding(R), Super Mario 64(R), and Mario Kart(R) 64. The company plans to add even more titles later this year as they become available.

"With the approaching summer travel season, the time is right to offer travelers a new choice in guest room entertainment," said Steven D. Truckenmiller, Vice President, Guest Pay Services for LodgeNet. "Last summer, more than 35 million hotel guests viewed the Nintendo name on a LodgeNet hotel system and purchased 54 million minutes of video game playing time. As we accelerate the deployment of N64 and continue to add new game titles, we expect this year's numbers to exceed those by a significant margin. "

"As a result of our long-term relationship with LodgeNet, now millions of N64 players of all ages will have the opportunity to test their video gaming skills away from home," said Peter Eck, Director Network Planning for Nintendo of America Inc. "LodgeNet's proven ability to bring cutting-edge, video game technology – from 16-bit to the current 64-bit – to the guest room environment has been instrumental in allowing Nintendo to reach an even broader video gaming audience."
