AH&LA Offers Members Comprehensive Health Insurance
Washington, June 29, 2001-The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) has launched a national health insurance plan for the lodging community. Through a partnership with Columbia, S.C.-based Palmer & Cay Consulting Group, Inc., hoteliers can purchase this valuable incentive through AH&LA's Web site,

"With insurance costs soaring, hoteliers have been searching for ways to provide economical solutions and value-added products and services to recruit and retain quality employees," said 2001 AH&LA Chairman John Russell. "This comprehensive program is sure to accomplish that."
"We have pulled together the best aspects of a customized employer product through a variety of top-notch vendors," said Palmer & Cay Principal Steve Farish. "The Internet makes enrollment a cinch and best of all, the economies of scale allow us to deliver the product at a cost employers could never negotiate on their own."
Last month, AH&LA introduced another benefit to its members - an employment practices liability insurance program, offering protection to employers in connection with certain types of lawsuits, including employees claiming wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, and violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (where insurable by law).
Under this new AH&LA-sponsored plan, member state associations may endorse and offer the health services to their property members. For more information, contact Farish at (888) 933-9222 or
