Audio Interview w/ Jim Young, VP of Global Distribution, Intercontinental Hotels Group 'Online Distribution Revisited.'

Jim Young joins us from Atlanta to discuss online distribution, bringing us the IHG perspective on the subject. The online retailers are here to stay, but will working with them get any easier? Jim Young is senior vice president, global distribution for InterContinental Hotels Group PLC of the United Kingdom (LON: IHG ; NYSE: IHG [ADRs]), the world's global hotel company. In his role as senior vice president, global distribution, Mr. Young has strategic and tactical responsibility for global distribution systems, travel agent commission processing, database management, BTA revenue programs and the company's relationships with on-line intermediaries, such as Expedia, Orbitz and Hotwire. Mr. Young reports to Peter Gowers, executive vice president, global brand services. Mr. Young joined InterContinental Hotels Group in 2001 as vice president, global distribution. Before joining Continental Airlines, Mr. Young was manager of strategic planning and on-line services at Canadian Airlines as well as a principal with the COBA Group, a London-based strategy consultancy.
