BURLINGTON, Vt.--Champlain College’s Hotel Management program is now being offered at the College’s satellite campus in Mumbai, India. The program joins the Software Engineering and Business programs, which were established there previously.

Peter Straube, director of Champlain’s Hospitality Industry Management program, reports the hotel industry is growing by leaps and bounds in Mumbai -- formerly known as Bombay -- as evidenced by new upscale properties including Marriott, Sheraton, Royal Meridien and Leela Kempinski hotels near the airport.

“In Mumbai, they are creating entirely new downtown zones to handle the rapid growth of the business sector,” Straube said. “There’s a huge demand for supervisors and managers in their hotel industry.”

Champlain College offers selected business and technology programs at overseas campuses, including a campus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The local students at these campuses study the same curriculum as Champlain College students in Burlington, Vt., and they earn the same Champlain degrees. To learn more, visit .
