Minor Hotels brand Tivoli Hotels & Resorts reopened the Tivoli Lagos Algarve Hotel in South Portugal following an extensive five-month renovation.

Tivoli invested €4.6 million into the refurbishment of the hotel. Portuguese interior designer Sofia Sardo designed the project at the property in the Algarve's fishing village of Lagos near the city center, the marina and the beach Meia Praia.

The firm redecorated the hotel's 205 guestrooms and suites across seven buildings. Tivoli also added five restaurants and a bar to the property as part of the renovations.

"This project reinforces the dedication of Tivoli Hotels & Resorts to continue setting the highest standard of service on an international level, particularly in the competitive Algarve market," João Jesus, area director of sales and marketing for the Algarve region at Tivoli, said in a statement.

The renovations follow the refurbishment of the Tivoli Coimbra in the center of Portugal completed in June 2108. Tivoli updated the hotel's 100 guestrooms, suites, five meeting rooms and public areas. The company also converted the Tivoli Caffèe into the Simone Coffee Shop.
