Today, Lower Manhattan welcomes Moxy NYC Downtown, the latest hotel property from developer Mark Gordon following the recent success of the landmark Baccarat Hotel in Midtown. The new, 30-story hotel brings a playful, relaxed vibe to the neighborhood with innovative technology, inspired meticulously designed hotel rooms, an incredible retro-inspired bar and lounge from Jon Neidich - one of the city's most respected bar and restaurant operators - and a prime location in the heart of NYC's newest 24/7 hub. All of these unique elements form the ultimate experience for guests and locals alike that is playful by design and unforgettable by nature.

A hotel that's all about lasting first impressions, Moxy NYC Downtown welcomes visitors into a dramatic 22-foot atrium lobby featuring a 13-foot x 21-foot state-of-the-art LED Wall, which not only features custom digital art installations created and inspired by the hotel, but also serves as a virtual window into Recreation, upstairs at Moxy NYC Downtown, the hotel's retro-themed play space.

By day, Recreation is a communal hang with all of the conveniences to work remotely, with a dynamic menu of quality coffee, tea and bites from Chef Akhtar Nawab (Alta Calidad). When not on the clock, guests can show off their competitive edge on a classic arcade machine (Ms. Pacman, Centipede and Donkey Kong) or get a little more physical with skee-ball, Jenga and tabletop shuffleboard. Another option is the basketball court, which is not just for shooting hoops: It doubles as a unique private event space equipped with seating for up to 40 people, state-of-the-art a/v technology and will feature programmed events and activities throughout the year. This space is catered by the innovative Recreation team.

As the sun sets and the tunes crank up, Recreation transitions into a relaxed local haunt where cocktails, created by the renowned Jim Kearns and great music reign. Behind the food & beverage program is restaurateur and nightlife operator Jon Neidich of Golden Age Hospitality, known for creating popular local bars and restaurants, such as Acme, Happiest Hour, Slowly Shirley and Tijuana Picnic. Beverage director Kearns conceptualized a bar program that features reimagined versions of 1:1 drinks, keg-tapped cocktails and large format spiked punch bowls that feature housemade tonics and sodas. Chef Akhtar dishes out Recreation's food menu offering all-day options from meals, snacks and late-night bites.

The "Pick Up" grab-and-go area features round-the-clock access to unique quick bites and munchies, items like freshly made sandwiches and salads, craft sodas and juices and local snacks, including a signature Moxy NYC Downtown flavor of the wildly popular dessert DŌ, Cookie Dough Confections, made designed exclusively for the hotel (hint: silver glitter sprinkles included).

"Downtown Manhattan has emerged as the newest hub of creativity energy in NYC. The market offers the ideal mix of 100 million square feet of world class office space, the best transportation infrastructure in the city, dozens of new residential properties, world class shopping, top tourist destinations and some of the most internationally recognized restaurateurs, it is a true live-work, 24/7 destination. Our business plan was to capitalize on this and build a hotel for New Yorkers and guests alike who desire a truly authentic Downtown experience. The Moxy NYC Downtown was designed to cater to the new downtown demographic and is unlike any hotel in its marketplace. During the day you'll find locals and out of towners working and playing side-by-side in Recreation. At night, you might find them challenging each other to a game of H.O.R.S.E. on our basketball court or toasting with made-to-share cocktails," states Gordon.

The 298 guest rooms feature 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, with great views overlooking the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges and the city skyline. Each guestroom was uniquely designed and features numerous luxury touch points including signature hanging chairs, Bang & Olufsen surround sound speakers, 50" flat-screen TVs, electronic lighting designed to create mood-settings and automated window shades. The bathrooms are decked out with custom vanities, oversized showers, Lefroy Brooks black matte bathroom fixtures and custom tiles cheekily warning, "Slippery When Wet." Design firm Stonehill Taylor created interiors with a focus on delivering high-end amenities and surprising twists throughout. Custom-designed leather beds offer luggage storage and the walls are composed of reclaimed wood paneling blending into cork floors. There are custom designed fold-out desks, folding chairs and hanging hooks so guests can display their clothing creating more space for yoga moves and dance parties, depending on where the night goes. Other playful touches that radiate the brand's personality include custom murals painted by Brooklyn based Ben Cowan, illuminated by neon room numbers in gold, magenta and blue color schemes, a vintage phone to dial up bedtime stories and a dual-sided artwork panel that creates a suggestive, peek-a-boo moment as the bathroom looks out into the guest room and spectacular Manhattan and Brooklyn views.

Guest amenities include custom designed tote bags to borrow for when guests want to explore the city and lightweight custom designed denim bathrobes for when they don't, complimentary Wi-Fi and a fitness center featuring a signature Moxy stationary bikes, boxing and surfboard workout gear.

Moxy NYC Downtown's location is the perfect launching pad to explore classic tourism attractions and destinations popular with local New Yorkers, such as Instagrammable moments on the Brooklyn Bridge and at the graffiti murals surrounding The Oculus, SoHo shopping, dining in Tribeca and fast ferry rides to the Brooklyn waterfront and Governors Island. Bordering Broadway, Moxy NYC Downtown is neighbor to One World Trade, Stone Street, the New York Stock Exchange, South Street Seaport, the Statue of Liberty, Charging Bull and Fearless Girl, the 9/11 Memorial and more.
