Aparium Hotel Group announced today the Surety Hotel in Des Moines, Iowa, is slated to open Spring 2020. The 12 story, 138-key boutique hotel will be located at 206 6th Avenue in the heart of downtown Des Moines' historic financial and insurance district.

Surety Hotel is a revival of a Beaux-Arts Classicism style architectural gem built for The Iowa Loan & Trust Company in 1913. The hotel, aptly named after a surety bond, which is a guarantee that another individual has your back, promises to uphold the same guarantee and offer unmatched service, a superior level of hospitality and a one-of-a-kind Iowa experience for travelers and locals. The property will boast a flagship ground floor restaurant and bar, Mulberry Street Tavern, expansive meeting and event spaces including a 200-person ballroom and a private outdoor courtyard.

Aparium Hotel Group has partnered with acclaimed design firm DLR Group and Slingshot Architecture to bring an inviting, high-designed contemporary space to the Des Moines market that will reminisce the city's past while celebrating its vibrant future. The hotel will offer a new kind of luxury, one that is simple yet spacious, comfortably worn and rooted in quality and authenticity. Guests can expect unique amenities from Des Moines makers, and rooms that boast remarkable views of the East Village and the Capitol.

Aparium Hotel Group has long been recognized for its transformative work on adaptive reuse projects and for creating sought after destinations of up-and-coming secondary and tertiary cities across the country. The hospitality group currently operates ten boutique hotels, with six additional properties set to open in 2020 and others in various stages of development. Each Aparium hotel is independently branded, community-driven and unique to the area in which it is located.
