Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tempe

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tempe has completed its final phase of a $5 million hotel renovation. This renovation included a complete revamp of the hotel lobby, 24-hour fitness center, a 800-square foot meeting space, food and beverage area, all 128 guestrooms, and the hotel's exterior. The purpose of this renovation was to conform to the sleek and modern style of the Formula Blue design specifications by InterContinental Hotels Group. The renovation was managed by San Diego-based hospitality group RAR Hospitality which acquired Holiday Inn Express and Suites Tempe in September of 2015.

The goal of the Formula Blue design is to create an upbeat and friendly atmosphere for hotel guests. The design included varying sightlines that ensure guests are able to easily identify and access all the amenities that are offered by the hotel.

The renovation was done in two phases to ensure a quality and comfortable stay for guests. Phase one of the renovations started in July 2016 and was completed by October of that year. Phase one entailed a complete remodel of all common areas, including the lobby, meeting space, and the hot breakfast bar area, as well as a refresh to the patio area, and swimming pool. This phase also included the remodel of the hotel's exterior. Phase two of the renovation began in May 2019 and was completed by October of 2019. Phase two included the remodel of all 128 guestrooms to provide guests a contemporary space, with convenient features to enhance their stay.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Tempe first opened in 2000 as an AmeriSuites Hotel, hence its rooms and suites are very spacious. It has close proximity to Arizona State University's main campus, as well as many of the businesses that are located in Tempe. The hotel is adjacent to Arizona Mills mall which includes a number of retail shops, restaurants, and SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium as well as Tempe Diablo Stadium, Phoenix Zoo and Tempe Town Lake. Phoenix Sky Harbor is located only six miles from the hotel which makes it a prime location for Phoenix/Tempe visitors.
