The Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has reopened following a US$100 million transformation, positioning the Atlantic-front resort as a modern coastal flagship in the wider Miami luxury market. The renovation is the first comprehensive renewal in nearly 25 years and was led by owner and developer Gencom in collaboration with design studios Hart Howerton, DesignAgency and Chapi Chapo Design.
Set on 17 acres of beachfront on Key Biscayne, the resort has been reimagined with an emphasis on open air architecture, uninterrupted ocean views and a contemporary island aesthetic. All guest rooms and suites have been redesigned with bespoke furnishings and natural materials, while the top tier Presidential Suite offers 2,620 square feet of indoor and outdoor space with panoramic views across Biscayne Bay.
The relaunch significantly upgrades the property's F&B and wellness offering, in line with rising demand for experience driven luxury and health focused travel. Six new dining concepts anchor the culinary repositioning. Luma delivers Mediterranean and Italian inspired cuisine with tableside service and a roaming gelato and granita cart, while Paralía, led by Executive Chef Renato Mekolli, brings Aegean influenced seafood and meze in an open air, oceanfront setting that transitions into a lively evening venue. Rum Bar, Dune Beach Bar, Stefano's poolside pizzas and Scoop's gelato concept round out the core venues, alongside an all day Pura Vida Miami café focused on nutrient rich, seed oil free dishes and a Bissinger's Handcrafted Chocolatier boutique.
On the wellness side, the new 30,000 square foot Ritz Carlton Spa, Key Biscayne is positioned as a central pillar of the resort strategy. The facility includes 16 treatment rooms, three couples' suites, a full service salon, spa garden with private cabanas and ritual led programming rooted in sound therapy and elemental healing. Daily complimentary Renewal Rituals, curated teas and scent driven experiences are designed to extend engagement and length of stay for wellness oriented guests. A refreshed oceanfront fitness center, programming by boutique brand Tremble and daily outdoor classes on the grand lawn reinforce the holistic positioning.
Leisure and lifestyle amenities have also been upgraded to appeal to families, active travellers and long stay guests. The resort offers expanded water sports, refreshed pools and cabanas, and the existing Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center now includes tennis, pickleball and padel courts. Curated retail from brands such as 120 Lino, Lilly Pulitzer and Sabbia Fine Jewelry supports the property's resort village feel, while a redesigned Ritz Kids Club adds nature inspired, interactive programming for younger guests.
With the reopening, The Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami is seeking to reinforce its role as a destination resort within the Miami metropolitan area, combining a secluded island setting with easy access to the city's business, cultural and nightlife hubs. For the luxury travel trade, the renewed product provides additional capacity in the high end resort and wellness segment, with clear opportunities across leisure, family, group and long weekend markets.
