Coral Sands Inn & Cottages ("Coral Sands") announces the completion of a second phase of inspired renovations and amenities across its iconic property. Since its acquisition of Coral Sands in 2024, real estate and hospitality firm AJ Capital Partners ("AJ") has stewarded a multiphase endeavor that includes the design transformation of all guest accommodations along with enhanced amenities, a state-of-the-art wellness center, refreshed public spaces, new dining concepts, and more.
Renowned as one of Harbour Island's most storied hotels, every element of Coral Sands' extensive transformation has been carefully considered to preserve its cherished legacy while introducing enhancements and experiences styled for the modern-day traveler. Recently completed renovations finalized the design transformation across the property's 41 total accommodations, including its marquee sea cottages and stand-alone beachside residences. This season the sprawling retreat also introduced a new sea cottage, a padel court, a Beach Shack offering to-go cocktails and light bites, and pool-side cabanas.
Recent efforts build upon phase one of the property's renovations, which unveiled in December 2025. Phase one introduced the redesign of 14 elevated garden and sea cottages, a state-of-the-art open-air fitness facility with pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts, two new inspired dining concepts, refreshed public spaces, and a gift shop featuring curated exclusives.
Coral Sands' design transformation, led by AJ's in-house design team, seamlessly blends the hotel's storied past and vibrant energy of Harbour Island. Key design highlights include island-inspired ceiling murals, the remarkable 7,000 hand-clad shells incorporated into the columns of The Pink Mermaid restaurant, custom-made wallpaper capturing the island's flora, fauna, and landscape as well as curated art pieces from sources around the world that represent the authenticity and cultural heritage of the Bahamas. Beautifully designed accommodations reflect the hotel's signature blend of charm, craftsmanship, and artistry that pays homage to its nearly 60-year legacy while enhancing the guest experience for future generations.
Coral Sands' multiphase restoration continues, with the next chapter of property enhancements underway, including a newly constructed spa anticipated to open in 2026.
