Chef Derin MooreDerin came to Turnberry Isle Miami from the Flagship Ritz Carlton Resorts of Naples were he maintained Mobil Five Star and AAA Five Diamond status for four seasons. These two neighboring luxury hotels, the award winning Beach Resort and Golf Resort continued to enhance their legendary culinary reputation under the guidance and direction of Chef Moore. In his role of executive chef, Chef Moore oversaw the culinary vision of 12 individual dining outlets to ensure that each offers and unique and diverse experience as well as 50,000 square feet of banquet space. Chef Moore is responsible for the direction and development of a 173-member culinary team, and sat on the regional board offering benchmark solutions for the iconic brands domestic portfolio. Derin brings an extensive and diverse background of experience in culinary arts to the resort. He began his culinary career at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, where he graduated in 1986. Upon graduation, he has strategically positioned his career path assuming chef roles in various fine dining restaurants’, platinum country clubs and adjunct professor at two Midwestern culinary schools before transitioning to high end hotel-resort properties. For nearly a decade, Chef Moore was selected to represent the United States in International competitions including, the most highly regarded “World Culinary Olympics” in Germany twice resulting in 13 international medals. He has accumulated numerous domestic awards resulting in close to thirty medals. In 2003, Chef Moore was recognized by the American Culinary Federation with the highest level of certification, “Certified Master Chef”. He was also selected to the Master Chef Committee in 2008. Originally from Michigan, Derin enjoys spending time with his wife of 21 years and their three children.
