Kenneth SorensenWith a wealth of experience in operating hotels both in Asia and Europe, Kenneth will oversee the transformation of ONYX’s inaugural property under its select service brand, OZO in late 2012. The 251-room property, currently known as the Wesley, is strategically located on Hennessy Road, a prime business and commercial area on Hong Kong Island, just minutes’ walk from Admiralty MTR station and Pacific Place. Kenneth has held leadership roles in the three key areas of the hospitality business, namely Sales & Marketing, Operations and also Divisional leadership on the owner’s side in Asset Management and Development. A Danish national, Kenneth began his hospitality career as a Management Trainee with Sheraton. Following his graduation from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, he joined Hilton International where he spent a number of years in senior sales and marketing roles in Europe before joining Swissotel Hotels and Resorts where he soon took up the role of Vice President Sales and Marketing Asia/Pacific. Kenneth later transitioned into operations where he held several positions as General Manager with Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts, running both resort and city properties including Le Meridien Cyberport in Hong Kong, under Starwood. Before joining ONYX Hospitality Group he was on the owner’s side of the business where he led the hospitality division of Pacific Century Premium Developments Limited, a leading Hong Kong-based real estate developer whose portfolio includes the Four Seasons Tokyo. In addition to spearheading the opening of OZO Wesley Hong Kong, the launch of the OZO brand, Kenneth is also responsible for operations for ONYX’s North Asia division in Greater China. At present this includes 11 properties under the Shama brand, a leading provider of luxury serviced apartments in prime commercial and residential districts; an additional two Shama properties in Hangzhou and Shanghai and Amari Dragon Bay Sanya, all of which are currently under development.
