Ed CrovoEd Crovo, chief operating officer of Hyatt Vacation Ownership, operator of Hyatt Residence Club, was recently recognized by Florida State University’s (FSU) Dedman School of Hospitality for outstanding achievements throughout an over forty-year career. During a ceremony held at the FSU campus in Tallahassee, Florida, Crovo received the award for his numerous professional accomplishments with Hyatt Hotels and Hyatt Residential Group and addressed more than 250 hospitality majors, faculty, and industry leaders, who were on hand for the event. Crovo graduated from FSU in 1969 with a degree in business administration and a concentration in hotel and restaurant administration. In his current role at Hyatt Vacation Ownership, he oversees all sales, marketing, and operational functions. Previously, he worked in various capacities for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, including positions as general manager of the Hyatt Regency hotels in Maui, Waikiki, Waikoloa, Hilton Head, Miami, and Hyatt Des Moines. He is a distinguished five-time nominee for Hyatt’s Donald M. Pritzker Award for General Manager of the Year, which he won in 1996. Prior to joining Hyatt, he served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army, operating officers’ clubs throughout Europe.
