Alan Stocker has been appointed General Manager at Waldorf Astoria Beijing
Hilton Worldwide announced the appointment of Mr. Alan Stocker as general manager of Waldorf Astoria Beijing. Mr. Stocker will report to Bruce McKenzie, Senior Vice President of Operations, Greater China & Mongolia, and will be responsible for the entire operation of Waldorf Astoria Beijing. Mr. Stocker joins Waldorf Astoria Beijing from Hilton Chongqing, where he held the position of general manager. Mr. Alan Stocker will be based in Beijing and begin his position on 15 June 2015. Mr. Stocker brings 27 years of experience to his new role at Hilton Worldwide. Mr. Stocker joined Hilton Worldwide in August 2011 to head the Waldorf Astoria Maldives and Hilton Irufushi Resort and Spa Maldives. Before moving to China, Mr. Stocker was supporting the Hilton regional office in Singapore in projects and assignments in Thailand, Bali, and Malaysia. Prior to his appointment in Beijing, Mr. Stocker was General Manager of the Hilton Chongqing, a position he has held since July 2014. Mr. Stocker has also held positions at a significant amount of experience working at high-end deluxe specialist properties in United Kingdom, Caribbean, Maldives, Mauritius, France and Spain. The British national, Mr. Stocker graduated with a degree in Hotel Catering and Institutional Management from South Devon College of Arts and Technology in 1989.
