In this new role, Ee Jin will be responsible for the strategic direction of marketing campaigns and spearhead key initiatives across IHG’s cluster of eight hotels spanning five brands in Singapore. Working closely with senior leadership teams, she will work on strengthening the brands’ positioning and uplift the profiles of hotels under the portfolio of IHG in Singapore, both locally and globally. Hotels include InterContinental Singapore, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium, Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre, Holiday Inn Express Singapore Clarke Quay, Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road and soon to open, Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong as well as Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong. Taking on a dual portfolio, Ee Jin currently heads up the Marketing Communications and Public Relations functions at InterContinental Singapore as Director of Marketing Communications & Public Relations, and serves as a member of the hotel’s leadership team as part of the Executive Committee. Over her two-year tenure with the hotel since June 2014, she has spearheaded numerous marketing campaigns, including the launch of TripAdvisor Singapore 50, a special hub presented in partnership with TripAdvisor and Viator in June 2015, which combined efforts of all IHG hotels in Singapore. Her most recent campaign was InterContinental Singapore’s year-long multimillion dollar renovation project which saw the relaunch of brand new guestrooms and dining establishments such as Ash & Elm and The Lobby Lounge where refreshed dining concepts were unveiled. Taking the hotel’s positioning to life, Ee Jin put strong relational skills to the forefront as she established a key partnership with the Singapore Tourist Guides Society for the development of a guided Heritage Trail for all hotel guests. The Heritage Trail was subsequently shortlisted and awarded funding by the Singapore Tourism Board for further development under the Experience Step-Up Fund. Earlier this month, Ee Jin was recognised by IHG SEAK (Southeast Asia and Korea) as Marketing Leader of the Year for the region, a testament of her leadership and achievements within the Singapore cluster. Responsible for the overall planning of marketing communications for the two hotels which house over 2,000 guestrooms, 15 restaurants and bars, the Raffles City Convention Centre and Willow Stream Spa, Ee Jin also directed and staged key events including the annual Swissôtel Vertical Marathon and Chefs With Altitude. Harnessing her strengths in Food & Beverage marketing, she was responsible for the PR and communications strategy which accelerated the growth and positioning of award winning restaurants and bar, JAAN, Mikuni and Anti:dote. She also led the hotel team through a holistic marketing campaign following the repositioning of Fairmont Singapore after the hotel came out of a 10-month renovation. Ee Jin started her career in hospitality in 2004 before joining Marina Mandarin Singapore in 2006. She served as Director of Marketing Communications at the hotel in 2007, before moving over to Mandarin Orchard Singapore in 2008, in a similar capacity. At Mandarin Orchard, she oversaw the launch of the hotel’s newly refurbished facilities including a series of new dining concepts. In 2010, she was promoted to the role of Assistant Vice President, Marketing Communications and Public Relations for Meritus Hotels & Resorts, at the same time helming a 2nd portfolio as Director, Marketing Communications for Mandarin Orchard. In this function, Ee Jin took on the task of refreshing the brand identity of the Meritus group.
