Georgette DaveyGlion Institute of Higher Education, one of the world’s leading hospitality management institutions, has appointed Georgette Davey as Managing Director GIHE overseeing the Swiss and UK campuses. Davey was formerly Campus Director of the branch campus of Glion in London, launched in 2013 to answer the growing demand for hospitality professionals across the world.As Managing Director, Davey will be responsible for leading GIHE Switzerland and UK campuses, driving and delivering further innovative strategies related to academics, operations and student experience. Davey is a prolific academic and seasoned hospitality management professional with over 25 years’ experience in the industry, including Hilton International and the Adams Group. Davey’s first role in education was as a professor at University College Suffolk, where she spent eight years delivering a portfolio of degree courses in Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism. In 2001 she joined Les Roches Global Hospitality Education, Glion’s sister school, as professor of Human Resource Management in the BBA program. She was also instrumental in developing curricula for the Les Roches Jin Jiang branch campus in Shanghai, China. In 2006, Davey joined Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne as a senior consultant, responsible for the development of the Executive Education Programme worldwide. She also worked as a consultant to develop accredited hospitality management schools around the globe, including in Brazil, Kazakhstan, Lebanon and Mexico. Davey graduated from Norwich Hotel School. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from University of East Anglia and is currently completing an MSc in International Hospitality Management from Sheffield Hallam University.
