Amy Moylan has been appointed General Manager at The Chen in Melbourne
Art Series Hotel Group have announced Amy Moylan as General Manager of The Chen, the eighth art inspired hotel for the Group. Amy will lead The Chen’s opening team after seven and a half years of delivering art inspired experiences for guests across the Group’s Victorian properties.Amy’s most recent role was Hotel Manager at The Schaller Studio in Bendigo, where she took a “tree change” from Melbourne to take up the position in December 2014. Prior to this, Amy was pivotal in the opening of The Blackman in 2009 before taking the step to lead the front office team at The Olsen for several years, prior to being promoted to her first General Manager appointment at The Cullen in 2014. In her two plus years as General Manager at The Schaller Studio, Amy engrained herself within the local Bendigo community, working tirelessly to grow and promote Bendigo as a tourist destination, while also dedicating herself to the busy hotel. Her contribution was recognised when she was appointed as a member of the Bendigo Tourism Board in 2015. Art Series Hotel Group fosters a culture that centres around nurturing staff and promoting from within. This can be seen via the career progression of many of the hotel management team including; Cory Norris-Jones promoted from Front Office Manager to Hotel Manager at The Larwill Studio; Nick Gouin promoted from General Manager at The Blackman to General Manager at The Olsen; Brett Parker promoted from Hotel Manager at The Larwill Studio to General Manager at The Blackman and Julie Dale promoted from Front Office Manager to General Manager at The Cullen. Art Series Hotel Group’s The Chen is scheduled to open in November 2017 in the burgeoning Melbourne suburb of Box Hill. Named after and inspired by Chinese Australian artist Zhong Chen, the hotel will reflect his fun and relaxed persona and be dedicated to the ‘Art of Joyful Journeys.’
