Ensemble Hotel Partners today announced the appointment of Greg Guthrie as General Manager for Hotel Maya - a DoubleTree by Hilton.

Ensemble Hotel Partners in Long Beach, Calif., owns and manages Hotel Maya - a DoubleTree by Hilton.

Guthrie now oversees the operation of the 199-room resort that includes Fuego, the 226-seat Latin-infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge; and 30,000 square-feet of indoor-outdoor meetings and events space that includes the Lagunita waterfront pavilion and Vista Del Mar pre-function, outdoor area.

From 2015 to 2018, Guthrie was General Manager at the 225-room DoubleTree by Hilton Carson, a full-service suburban hotel with 7,500-square-feet of banquet space. Under his leadership, the property was a Top 5 percent rated guest service hotel Doubletree Americas. His management staff was recognized as the Sales Team of the Year 2015, Doubletree by Hilton, Americas; and Travel with Purpose Award 2017 Doubletree by Hilton, Americas.

Guthrie spent the previous four years as Hotel Manager at Hotel Maya. His responsibilities included overseeing all Hotel operations including food and beverage and the rooms department.

Prior to Hotel Maya, Guthrie has held a variety of hotel positions including Director of Food and Beverage at Kyoto Grand Hotel in Los Angeles and Sheraton Cerritos in Cerritos, Calif. His hospitality career has taken him from San Diego and San Francisco to Chicago and Columbus.

He received a Bachelor of Science, Business Management and Marketing, from Northern Michigan University. Guthrie has completed several training and certificate programs including CARE President DoubleTree Guest Service; Train the Trainer DoubleTree Hotels; Service Champion Starwood Hotels and Resorts; Customer Focused Catering I & II Hilton Corporation; and Hilton Internal Control.

And to fulfill the culinary call, there's Fuego restaurant, the modern, Latin-infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge, that offers a unique seaside setting featuring 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating inside and on the patio area. Fuego's stunning open-air views include the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach skyline and Queen Mary.
