Massimiliano Puglisi

The Vanderbilt, Auberge Resorts Collection, the historic mansion situated in the charming coastal town of Newport, Rhode Island, announced today that Massimiliano Puglisi has joined as General Manager.

In his new role, Puglisi will oversee the daily operations of the elegant hotel, which was originally built in 1909 by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, a scion of the wealthy Vanderbilt family.

A seasoned hotelier, Puglisi brings nearly 20 years of experience to the position and has been lauded as an esteemed leader in the luxury hospitality industry. Most recently, Puglisi served as Hotel Manager at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, a landmark property on New York City's Upper East Side. Previously, he was Interim Managing Director at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, an enchanting Tuscan estate in Montalcino, Italy.

Previously, he began his career in London and spent more than six years in leadership roles with InterContinental Hotels in Spain, New York, Scottsdale, Baltimore and Dallas.

Puglisi is a native of Sicily, Italy and is fluent in Italian and Spanish. He enjoys snowboarding and riding his cherished motorcycle whilst taking in the fresh seaside air and views around Newport in his free time.
