Danyelle Montgomery

With nearly 15 years of leadership experience in the luxury travel sector—including a background working with Mexican resorts—Montgomery brings her passion for travel, industry expertise, and valuable knowledge of Mexico's hospitality landscape to the Thompson Zihuatanejo team. In her new role she oversees sales, marketing, advertising, and reservations for leisure and group travelers at the beachfront resort.

Inspired by fond childhood memories of family trips, Montgomery's love of travel—along with a personal interest in Mexico—led her to pursue a position with Thompson Zihuatanejo. As a new member of the resort's leadership team, Montgomery guides the resort staff to share Thompson's signature approach to luxury with guests, inviting them to explore the resort's unique location, luxury amenities, and its dynamic surroundings in an authentic way.

Prior to joining Thompson Zihuatanejo, Montgomery served as area director of national accounts at Ritz-Carlton Hotels of the Caribbean & Mexico, one of the top positions within the company's sales division. In this role, she developed an intimate understanding of the Mexican hospitality market, and under her guidance, the team managed the largest producing third party, HelmsBriscoe Globally. Montgomery's leadership earned her the "Hotelier of the Year" award from HelmsBriscoe, in both 2017 and 2018. After graduating from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in communications and emphasis in advertising, Montgomery worked for a number of esteemed properties, honing her sales and marketing expertise and gaining experience in a variety of travel markets. At the Marriott Newport Coast Villas & Marriott Grand Chateau Luxury Condos, Montgomery was named "Top Sales Performer" for three consecutive years. She quickly advanced to a managerial role and expanded her leadership skills as part of the Ritz-Carlton sales teams in Kapalua, HI and Phoenix, AZ, before being appointed account director at the W New York-Times Square.
