Martin Cramer

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Martin Cramer as General Manager of the award-winning Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai.

A seasoned hotelier with a hospitality career spanning more than 30 years, Martin Cramer brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Most recently he managed the iconic Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, a symbol of exemplary luxury in Emirati hospitality, which became part of the Mandarin Oriental portfolio on 1 January 2020.

Prior to his appointment at Emirates Palace, Cramer spent three years with the Grand Millennium Muscat as Area General Manager where he supervised the operation and growth of the company within the Sultanate of Oman, growing its portfolio from two to five properties.

His rich experience extends across both established hotels and openings, with a strong emphasis on profitability, revenue management and growth. He has also held managerial roles at Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort, Sheraton Oman Hotel and Sheraton Pretoria Hotel & Towers.

Martin Cramer holds a degree in Hotel Business Administration from Bergius Hotel Management School Frankfurt, Germany and is fluent in German, Portuguese, English and Spanish.

Anthony Tyler - General Manager

11 November 2020 — Mr. Tyler is no stranger to the hotel, having worked at the iconic property in 1998 as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. From there, he held senior positions at leading properties across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North and Central America, gaining extensive experience in operations and management.

30 October 2020 — With over 12 years of experience in the F&B scene, Kooij brings a wealth of knowledge to spearhead the department. Prior to joining Emirates Palace, Kooij was the F&B manager at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong.
