James Merrihew

McKibbon Hospitality, an award-winning leader in hotel management, today announced the appointment of James Merrihew as Asset Manager. In his new role, Merrihew will be responsible for monitoring and assessing the overall performance of 20 McKibbon-owned hotel properties, four restaurant concepts, 11 vacation rentals, as well as office buildings and parking decks, analyzing revenue and management data to implement a wide range of positioning strategies aimed at ensuring each asset maximizes their potential.

Merrihew will be working closely with McKibbon's Vice President of Asset Management, J.B McKibbon on these efforts. The fourth-generation family member to work for the company, J.B. McKibbon oversees all aspects of existing McKibbon investments, including acquisitions and ground-up developments, guiding asset management and financial analysis for our current properties and development analysis for proposed projects.

A well-rounded and lauded leader, Merrihew held a variety of on-property operational roles wit h White Lodging over an 8-year period prior to joining McKibbon, including his most recent post as Dual Assistant General Manager of their 422-room, dual-branded Aloft-Element Austin Downtown. In 2019, while serving as General Manager of their Hilton Garden Inn Salt Lake City Airport, Merrihew was elected to White Lodging's 2019 President's Council based on the property's overall metrics achievement of +100%. He was also the recipient of their 2018/2019 Q1 Excalibur Award, 2017 Q3 Excalibur Award, 2017 Living the Vision Award based on hotel scorecard performance of green or better in all metrics, and 2016 Rookie Manager of the Year for all select-service brands. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Ithaca College.
